SUMMARY:
Prominex Inc. is a startup molecular diagnostic company with an experienced team of passionate and energetic scientists driven to create fast and affordable molecular diagnostic solutions across the globe. We are focused on infectious disease assays in point-of-care and home-based settings. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Research Associate to implement and execute analytical and scientific experiments to drive Product Development. Demonstrates high degree of organization and planning and the ability to apply scientific principles to plan out and execute experiments involving a variety of laboratory methods. This individual demonstrates technical proficiency, high degree of organization and planning and the ability to apply scientific principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes bench experiments; makes detailed and general observations and reports data accurately and effectively
- Analyzes data and interprets results
- Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and data analyses
- Presents and discusses results of experiments within the scientific team
- Works well in a team environment by being a productive team member, suggesting creative solutions to problems and providing input to project planning
- Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature
- Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement
- Helps to troubleshoots problems and institutes corrective action
- Performs a wide variety of tasks, and exhibits a wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Makes suggestions to improve work processes and laboratory environment
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, established techniques, instruments and equipment
- Experience with nucleic acid amplification techniques (PCR) and nucleic acid purification procedures
- Able to operate under SOPs for development purposes
- Experience with lateral flow technologies
- Basic understanding of Universal Precautions and Basic Lab safety
- Skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software applications
- Capable of searching scientific literature to gain information about specific topics
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science and minimum requirement of 2-5 years of experience in a related field
- Master’s degree in Science and minimum requirement of 0-2 years of experience in a related field
